Biography
Dr Nieuwendijk was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and studied medicine at the university of Antwerp (Belgium) where he was trained as an internist and subsequently as an intensivist at the University of Antwerp (UZA). After obtaining these degrees in 2006 he started working as an intensivist at the Thorax Centre of the Erasmus MC Rotterdam (The Netherlands) from 2007 until 2008. From 2008 until the present day he works as an intensivist at ZNA Middelheim (Antwerp, Belgium). His main topics of interest and expertise are infectious diseases, therapeutic hypoth postresuscitation care and cardiothoracic surgery.
