Dr. Jacobs Rita
Biography
Rita Jacobs received her medical degree with great distinction from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2003. She graduated in Internal Medicine in 2008 and in 2009 she subsequently completed postgraduate training in Intensive Care Medicine.
She is currently head of clinics in ICU, responsible for the medical intensive care unit.
Her scientific work is focused on clinical research in critically ill patients with acute kidney injury. She started a research project to complete her PhD on this subject in collaboration with University Hospital Brussel. She has a special interest in extracorporeal carbon dioxide removal.
She is married to Dirk Pauwels and together they have two sons, Jan and Raf.
