Biography
Mike obtained his bachelor degree in nursing at the Karel De Grote High School in Antwerp, Belgium. Afterwards he continued his education with a bachelor after bachelor training in intensive care and emergency medicine. He wrote his thesis on proning in patients with ARDS, which resulted in the implementation of a flow chart and the organization of training courses for his fellow nurses. For the last 11 years he worked as an ICU nurse, first at AZ Monica hospitals from 2004-2010, followed by ZNA Jan Palfijn hospital (2010-2014) and since January 2015 he works at the medical intensive care unit MITE of the ZNA Stuivenberg hospital in Antwerp, Belgium.
